Job Title: QA Tester
Contact: Daisy Amescua (HR)
January 2011 - August 2011
A reputation for successful titles and the fact I'd worked with several of their current staff in past projects were both factors that led me to the valley and 2K Games. Here I gained experience as a functionality "floor" tester and as part of an online division working on several projects for 2011 across multiple platforms and the PC.
Picktainment.com
3312 Dona Rosa Dr.
Studio City, CA 91604
Job Title: Writer
Contact: Phillip Wallace
November 2009 – Present
One of the few advantages to an unpredictable economy was pursuing other interests, writing being first on my list. Some of my previous print articles were published in a 2009 anthology which opened doors to work in journalism again. Working with Picktainment.com has allowed me to write on current releases and attend premieres, but has also allowed commentary on award winning performances from the past.
GTL Media

Job Title: QA Tester
Contact: Chris Arbolida
July 2009 – August 2009
GTL Media required a small team to handle several issues for a Wii project with a limited schedule. Localization, Wi-Fi and lot check standards as well as functionality testing were all covered to prepare the title for submission to Nintendo. This particular project involved interfacing with a team in Japan and working through translators to submit feedback to each other.
Activision Blizzard

El Segundo, CA 90245
Job Title: QA Tester
Contact: Jimmy Nguyen
November 2008 – April 2009
As the merger between Vivendi, Blizzard, and Activision went into full effect, I remained on board hoping to have a part in both continuing my career in QA and helping form this expansion of Activision’s role in the industry. Working at Activision has provided the opportunity to work on two DS projects with plenty of overtime hours and has allowed me to adapt to the testing standards of the company.
Vivendi Games
100 N. Sepulveda Blvd.
El Segundo, CA 90245
Job Title: QA Tester
Contact: James Pasque
May 2007 – November 2008
Having over 18 months with Vivendi Games, I had the opportunity to work in number of different roles, beginning in TRG and moving to standard functionality testing. My time in 2007 involved performing in a senior tester’s capacity with Geometry Wars Galaxies for the DS and also some end testing on World In Conflict. In 2008, I worked in digital distribution where I handled installation and other issues unique to each of our vendors and was later involved in helping our inventory department establish and implement an inventory control system for the company’s equipment. As the eventual merger took place, I continued to work in functionality testing for one of Vivendi’s titles as a PC sku lead before moving to another PC-based project in the last months of 2008.
Obsidian Entertainment
1560 E. Warner Ave.
Santa Ana, CA 92705
Job Title: QA Tester
Contact: Kevin Carter
February 2006 - October 2006
One of the most anticipated titles for me personally as well as the RPG community; I had the pleasure to work in Obsidian’s first in-house QA department exclusively for alpha and beta testing on Neverwinter Nights 2 in 2006. Daily assignments covered a wide array of testing methods: detailed checklists, use of the module building toolset, extensive hours checking statistics, balance, functionality, and overall gameplay simultaneously. Meetings with design staff teams were also used to update progress on a daily basis, and open communication throughout the company was also encouraged.
Crave Entertainment

Newport Beach, CA 92660
Contact: Darold Higa
Job Title: QA Tester
August 2005 - January 2006
Crave Entertainment has published a variety of titles over the years for consoles as well as handheld games. I worked with both Crave’s producers and the QA staff on World Championship Poker 2 for a holiday release. Under a tight schedule, we resolved issues throughout the game for the PS2, Xbox, and PSP versions of the game. I was also able to work with the developers at their facility in order to reproduce some of the more elusive issues on one of their test machines.

Contact: Craig Bennon
Job Title: QA Tester
July 2004 - July 2005
As a QA Tester for Legacy Interactive, I worked on several software projects (Zoo Vet, Law & Order 3, Criminal Intent, ER) for releases over the 2004 and 2005 season. Testing methods for this game included use of a screen capturing utility and a bug tracking database which gave the staff ongoing updates on each title. During the end of 2004, I was given the opportunity to act in more of a lead testing role and participated in project meetings that brought the scripters, designers, and management together for the latest information on our progress.
